Happy Oceans, Wally the Whale

Story

Wally was the biggest, oldest, and grumpiest whale in the sea. He had seen many seasons, but lately, things were getting worse—plastic tangled in his fins, fewer fish to eat, and waters filled with noise from boats. He grumbled, believing nothing could change.

One day, Wally got caught in a massive fishing net. He struggled, but it only tightened around him. Just when he thought it was over, a group of divers appeared. They worked together to free him, carefully cutting the ropes until he was loose.

Wally was stunned. Maybe humans did care. Inspired, he decided to send a message in the only way he knew how—by making waves. He breached high into the sky, slapping the water with a mighty splash. The divers laughed and cheered, and one even shouted, “Happy Oceans, Happy Planet!” Wally knew then that if he and the humans worked together, his home had a chance to heal.
